Ohhhhhh Baby!

Recently I was asked to babysit for one of my dads friends! They have a baby girl, and a three year old boy. So without any thought I said, 'of course!' In my mind, I saw myself sitting with the beautiful baby girl in my arms and the boy sitting next to me watching blues clues or something along those lines. I figured a night full of innocence and naivety would be relaxing. But boy was I wrong.

It started off well. Abby the baby was sleeping, and Ayden the little boy was sitting in 'his' chair and watching blues clues. 

She woke up peacefully and then realized, your not my mom.

She gave me a few strange looks,

and then the water works began

and they kept going.. and going...

I held her, and cuddled her, and talked to her, and that

seemed to work! she calmed right down, and then got curious.

The night ended up being how I had planned it to be.

Its days like these that I am thankful for

This whole weekend has been one of those, do nothing weekends! Other than Remembrance day on Friday, I have had nothing going on. So with all of this time on my hands, I decided to create some fun things for myself!

I find that my room is very green and earthy looking, so I thought that it could use a bit of color to make it a little more, 'me'.

I have had an obsession with feathers lately. I really want one in my hair, but I'm not quite sure where to get one... So I'll just stick to feather earrings for now.

Last night my mom came down to my room and told me to go look outside at the moon. So I did. This is what I saw.

Welcome back, Winter

When I looked outside the window this morning, I wasn't very surprised to see a blanket of white covering my yard. It is unusual for it not to snow before Remembrance day (yesterday). 

After a bit of driving practice with my mom (my test is on the 21st.. ), I decided to take some pictures!

Today's theme in church was forgiveness. Around 2 years ago, the First United church that i have attended for my whole life, was burned down. It was arson. Although it was upsetting for everyone, many people have forgiven the young man who was held responsible for the crime. But there are still lots of people who have not yet forgiven him. 

Todays service was focused on trying to get everyone to accept what has happened, and forgive the man who is now hopefully regretting his actions.

A tribe in Africa was brought up by our minister Ruth. She explained how this tribe dealt with their 'criminals'. The wrongdoer must stand in the middle of the town, alone. The whole town stops doing what their doing, and every single person, the young ones and the very old ones gather and make a circle around the 'criminal'. They go around the circle to each person, and each person has to say every nice thing that the 'criminal' has done for them, or to them. 

This is something that Jesus would have done. I wish that the rest of the world worked this way. I think that it would make our world much more peaceful, accepting, and most importantly...forgiving.

Sugar Scrub

A few days ago, my friend Sarah told me about a Sugar Scrub that she had used. I had read about them on the internet, and they seemed easy enough to do! So I decided to make one. I thought my skin was soft before. But now, my skin is actually glowing and it is probably 5x softer than before. I cant believe it! I used it on my face, arms and legs. It can be used pretty much all over your body, but be careful around your eyes and any other sensitive areas.


Ingredients: White Sugar, Brown Sugar, Olive Oil or Vegetable Oil, Lime juice (optional) and Water

The citrus in the lime is great for your skin. You could use a few drops of lemon or orange juice as well.

2/3 cups of sugar

1/2 cup of brown sugar

Pour them into a bowl so that they are somewhat layered.

Measure the oil

Pour the oil, and about a teaspoon full of lime juice into your sugar mixture and then stir it all up!

Depending on the moisture of your brown sugar, you may need to add some water. I did, and this is what my sugar scrub looked like!

Rub in circular motions on your skin

Crafting

After a busy day at school, some of my friends and I are making crafts together! Couldn't ask for a better way to spend my evening.

November 1st

Its November.. or should I say, no shave 'Movember'. As I walked through the halls at school today, I was surprised to see the amount of mustaches on the boys already! Who knew they could grow them so fast...

Anyway! My boyfriend and I went out for tea today at the 'Tea House', we had creamy earl grey tea! Wow, was it ever delicious. 

The lady who owns and runs the 'Tea House', is a Coca-cola super fan! The whole building is covered in Coca-cola gadgets and products.

During our visit, my boyfriend (Lukas) and I found out that he got the job that he had been searching for! I am so happy for him, and so proud. It was good to see him relieved. I could tell he had been stressing about it for a while. Yay!

Last Minute Halloween costume! Me and my mom spent all day on it yesterday! I'm quite happy with how it turned out. Too bad I forgot the utter..

Nikon

Yesterday was such a fabulous shopping day! It is official that my favorite store in West Edmonton Mall is, Aerie by american eagle. There were some unexpected sales, so that was awesome! 

For quite some time now, I have wanted a Nikon camera. I am really into photography, and I think that the D3000 is a great starter camera! I purchased it yesterday, and I am already in love! 

Life in a day

Today while sick at home with Strep throat, my boyfriend brought over this incredible movie I had never heard of before. Life in a Day is created with hundreds of YouTube video clips submitted for the project. Its such a different movie. I loved it!
