Nikon

Yesterday was such a fabulous shopping day! It is official that my favorite store in West Edmonton Mall is, Aerie by american eagle. There were some unexpected sales, so that was awesome!
For quite some time now, I have wanted a Nikon camera. I am really into photography, and I think that the D3000 is a great starter camera! I purchased it yesterday, and I am already in love!

Life in a day

Today while sick at home with Strep throat, my boyfriend brought over this incredible movie I had never heard of before. Life in a Day is created with hundreds of YouTube video clips submitted for the project. Its such a different movie. I loved it!

My first DIY

This is today's project. Jewelry holder! =) Super easy to make.

Must read.

ROOM is the story of a five-year-old called Jack, who lives in a single room with his Ma and has never been outside. When he turns five, he starts to ask questions, and his mother reveals to him that there is a world outside. Told entirely in Jack’s voice, ROOM is no horror story or tearjerker, but a celebration of resilience and the love between parent and child.

This story gets you thinking about life, and how lucky most of us really are.

Happy Sunday

Brrr! it is only 7 degrees out today! Winter is definitely on its way.
Here's a great recipe for delicious old fashioned Hot Chocolate:

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/3 cup boiling water
  • 3 1/2 cups milk
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup half-and-half cream
  • Directions
  • Combine the cocoa, sugar and pinch of salt in a saucepan. Blend in the boiling water. Bring this mixture to an easy boil while you stir. Simmer and stir for about 2 minutes. Watch that it doesn't scorch. Stir in 3 1/2 cups of milk and heat until very hot, but do not boil! Remove from heat and add vanilla. Divide between 4 mugs. Add the cream to the mugs of cocoa to cool it to drinking temperature.
